Charms of Kochi Prefecture and Shikoku

Kochi Prefecture is the largest of Shikoku's four prefecture and is also the birthplace of Sakamoto Ryoma, a historical figure of Japan who played an active role during the end of the Edo Period. There are many historical sites associated to him within the prefecture. Kochi is also rich in nature with areas such as the famous Shimanto River. The other three prefectures (Kagawa, Ehime, and Tokushima) all have their own unique charms. We hope to introduce these attractions to foreigners on this site.
